Thanksgiving Word Game
Today's Snack: You can help out with the Thanksgiving
feast by preparing a relish tray. Get ready by making today's snack: with adult
supervision, cut a rib of celery into eight sticks, and dip them into a little
sour cream with a bit of Italian dressing stirred in. What else to drink at
Thanksgiving time, than some cranberry juice?!?

Supplies:
Sheet of
paper and pencil for each family member
Thanksgiving
is a time for family fun! Here's something to do that will help you with your
vocabulary and spelling skills, plus have fun waiting for the Thanksgiving turkey
to bake.
Pass
around a sheet of paper and a pencil to each family member. Have them write
this at the top:
Thanksgiving Feast
Now
when you say "go," everybody should try to write down as many words as they can
find, using the letters. You can use letters from either word in combinations.
You can put an "s" at the end of a word and make it plural, to get a higher
word count.
To
get you started:
I
A
An
The
Than
That
Thank
Giving
Tan
Tank
Task
. .
. and so on.
You
might set a time limit of five minutes.
Then
everybody should count up how many words they got, and the winner should get a
prize . . . like the honor of going through the buffet line first, or getting
the first piece of pie!
